Anyone watching the Welsh crime drama "Hidden" on Acorn
I'm trying to get into it. Anyone else watching it? It's partly in Welsh with subtitles.

2. I saw the first season (there are 2).
I thought the first season was a creepy and well acted show. It was slow moving. I could not make it through the second season. It was too slow for me.It is a very dark show.
Just my 2 cents. I like Brit crime shows-but now I am finishing the Spanish show Money Heist on Netflix. |

4. No haven't seen it. But thanks for posting. I watched another Welsh series and really liked it.
Hinterland. 3 Seasons 4/5 episodes each.
DCI Tom Mathias has left London and is looking to make a fresh start. But his first case in Aberystwyth, a university town between the Welch coast and the foreboding hinterland, is grisly and mysterious. With the help of DI Mared Rhys, a savvy local, Mathias sets out to solve a series of crimes, not knowing that investigating the murders may lead to his own undoing.
It was a bit dark but the storyline was excellent, the main character a bit booding but I really got to like him. But loved the scenery and being able to see another country. His partner was good too. Loved the accents too. Believe it was on Netflix, not sure where it's streaming now. |

16. I loved Hinterland, partly because it was filmed near where my great grandfather came from
Devil's Bridge, the location that was used for the children's home is only a couple of miles from the little village where my ancestors lived. While my husband and I were in the UK in 2019, we visited both the village and Devil's Bridge - took the train from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge on a rainy day so we couldn't walk around much, but it was still neat.
The landscape there is beautiful. We got to see the church where my great great grandparents were married, my great grandfather was baptized, and in the churchyard, where my great great grandfather and several of his sons were buried. Then we spent a day at the National Library of Wales doing genealogical research. Fun time! |

8. I think most of the actors are authentically Welsh, which is fun to hear
I'm kind of burned out on moody Brit mysteries, but I'll watch S2, I think. I liked S1 because of the voices and the scenery.

13. I'm so happy to have seen this thread. We're obsessed with British mystery/cop shows.
There are a few we haven't watched yet - has anyone seen "Shakespeare & Hathaway?"

17. Some seasons are on BritBox - such as most Vera seasons
You just have to search for them from the main menu of whatever you use to stream and you can usually find the 'missing seasons.'
