The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsThirty-three patients on my schedule today. Half of them are COVID-19 tests.
Same as yesterday. Three COVID-19 positives yesterday. All of them are vaccinated and having few, if any, symptoms.
Get vaccinated, everyone. And if you are vaccinated, get your booster.
Some DU Lounge vibes to get through the day would be most welcome...

(2,347 posts)Feel like both feet are left feet. And maybe both legs are broken. Those of us in the nursing staff definitely feel that way. 😩

(66,316 posts)Most of my patients know that when I tell them to get their immunizations, they get their immunizations. I've only had one flat-out refusal, and she doesn't come around to the clinic anymore. I guess she got tired of saying 'no'.
One salutary effect of the pandemic: I used to have to beg and cajole a lot of my patients to get their flu shot when flu season comes around every year. These last two years, I've had patients coming in, begging to get their flu vaccine.

(46,909 posts)My daughter works in a hospital and is now having to pull double shifts.
Works all day, then nights.
The hospital declared emergency staffing, so all the old staffing rules have gone bye-bye.

(81,209 posts)We were vaccinated AND boosted. And we both plan to get a second booster shot as soon as its possible.
In your honor.

(12,904 posts)You, and your medical field colleagues are amazing individually, and as a group. We, as a nation, are deeply indebted to you for the bravery and steadfastness you have shown during the last two years. It is a debt we will never be able to repay. Thank you.
Vaccinated, boosted, stocked with food, and in winter hibernation here. Well do our part by staying in.

(10,303 posts)... those working the smaller more rural hospitals whose ER departments are diverting patients...
As Jimmy Carr said when he asked for a raise of hands of those who were unvaccinated... Take that hand and slap it across your face you fucking idiot...
Sorry it's a clip, then it goes on to someone offering commentary... But the clip itself is enough.
