5. great game....and one I really wasn't interested in to start...

I was at the 2012 game where Oregon beat my Badgers 45-38. There was also a game back in the 60's, where some team was pounding Wisconsin, then Ron Van Der Kellen led the Badgers back almost to a victory. Being a midwestern native, we always watched the Rose Bowl. Still do now that I'm in SoCal...

or basically any Pac 10 team. Why? Michigan and OSU were in the game almost every year and I hated them...since my teams always sucked haha...

12. I switched over to PBS Great Performances

I always watch the Rose Bowl. UCLA is my alma mater. But I could care less about either team this year. Neither team had any defense. The game became boring and I didn't care which team won.

I thoroughly enjoyed the music and ballet program from Vienna hosted by Hugh Bonneville.

In 1984 I had 3 seats on the 50 yard line--courtesy of a colleague at work who had connections to the Rose Bowl --to witness UCLA upset Illinois. My father was an alum of Illinois and a crazy, serious college football fan. I gave him his seat as a Christmas present and went to the game with him and my brother, also a UCLA alum. My poor dad was so disappointed.

Variety of reasons, I think in some cases second- and third-string players were starting for the first time this season in the Rose Bowl and they got better with game experience, just barely enough
