David Lee Roth cancels all farewell dates in Las Vegas due to COVID concerns

David Lee Roth's retirement may have come sooner than planned.

After canceling his New Year's Eve and New Year's Day performances at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, the veteran Van Halen frontman has also nixed the remaining concerts from his previously announced farewell shows.

A spokesperson for the venue confirmed to USA TODAY Roth's shows have been canceled "amid coronavirus concerns," the same reason given for his cancelations over the holiday weekend.

In October, Roth, 67, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that after his slate of January concerts, he would be "throwing in the shoes."

I thought he retired 20 years ago. His career was over before that.
