(70,067 posts)our #1 destination for our field trips was the field museum, because they sold them in the gift shop. they also had a different selection, it being a museum.
plus it had a mickey d's, so if they were a happy meal toy, they usually had them when others ran out. i had to eat a happy meal too sometimes.

(70,067 posts)when i was a hospice volunteer, i used to donate them to the family room. but i still have a bunch.
it happened 2 yrs in a row that they came out when i was on vaca from momdom. camping in upper wis. i ate happy meals most days. it was a small town, off season, and never ran out.

My granddaughters love them all over again.

Couple years ago I bought at a garage sale for a couple bucks the dragon, "Scorch."

(1,023 posts)Cartons upon cartons full of those little suckers. Between Beanie Babies and Harry Potter it gave me a hint of the underbelly to come. In fairness though, some of those midnights were fun because the kids were really into it.

(70,067 posts)i have a search set for a woman artist that i collect. a woman wrote a book about her in '04, and it pops up in that search. the book is available for $40, signed, every day.
but someone on ebay lists it over and over for $200-300. pops up at crazy prices on amazon used, too.

I was born in 1985, got to see a lot of this craziness firsthand. I turn 37 on February 3. Gettin' up there, but I'll be rich thanks to my NES cartridge collection!

(31,377 posts)when he was about 8, I think. We'd run all over town getting new ones and watch the prices rise on eBay. I convinced him to let me sell his collection and put the $2,000. In his bank account.
I use 3 to decorate at Christmas and 3 for Halloween. It's a nice reminder of the fun we had and a lesson in buy low, sell high.
