Question for anyone with a knee replacement......are you having any discomfort with your new one??

I had mine replaced Oct 2018…..and it is starting to feel kinda weird…..not hurting exactly, just different. Anyone else have anything happen with their replaced knees?? Thanks….

1. I once asked someone who had this operation

if it got rid of arthritis. The person responded that they still had stiffness in the knee. That was disappointing for me to hear.

2. Had a knee replacement six years ago.

No problems at all. I did the physical therapy like they said and joined a gym after that.
The only weird feelings I remember is a numbness around my knee cap. The doctor this was normal because they pulled all that skin back to get to the knee bone. I had no feeling at all on my skin until the nerves started working again, but after a few years all my feeling is back and I forget I ever had knee replacement surgery.

3. Got both mine replaced nine years ago had the same experience no problems, went to PT

Everything is going well since, I feel very lucky. My knees were so bad I couldn’t even bend them. Now I can ride the stationary bike in the gym

4. I can still feel storms coming but it isn't as painful

as it used to be.

Maybe go back and do some of your physical therapy exercises if you can remember them. I just had my second one done in November and I have mine available if you want.

5. I had one knee replacement 6 years ago.

No pain.

However, despite being very diligent about rehabbing, I was unable to restore a signficant
amount of muscle mass in that leg.

Three years later, faced with similar arthritic discomfort in the other knee, I used extensive, soft exercise of the other knee - and avoided surgery on the second knee.

I am glad I avoided the second replacement.

6. I had a knee replacement July 2017

and it's never been right. Did all my exercises and PT. Never got the same range of motion back and it's always felt strange. Doesn't hurt, just doesn't feel normal.

Fifteen months later I had the hip on the same leg replaced and the surgeon didn't get the leg even with my right one. That has caused me to limp, and soon after my other knee started bothering me. Then Covid. I have recently decided to look into non surgical treatment of this knee, because I really don't want to do another knee replacement.

It's all been from arthritis. First hip replacement was 2007, so I now have three joint replacements, all from bone on bone joints.
