Internet/tech questions

Posting here because the internet group doesn't seem particularly active.

I use Shopify. It's good platform and I've been pretty happy with it. However, they've recently screwed up some administrative things and their customer service is appalling. It's almost as if there's been a conscious decision to piss of customers. I don't like the idea of migrating to another e-commerce platform, but I think I need to begin thinking about it. I know the platforms that are out there, but there's no one site that is willing say that this platform or that platform is the best alternative. Rather, all the tech sites I've found have listed all the pros and cons of 10 or more platforms without recommending one specifically. Any kind of move can't be a hit-or-miss. If I move, I need a platform that I can be confident about from the start.

So, does anyone have any experience with a Shopify alternative that has been consistently excellent?

Also, if there any very experienced website developers here, I'd like to dm to ask about the right kind of platform/app for something I want to do with our website to improve customer service and increase sales to long-distance customers for what is usually a hands-on selling process. Involving workbooks, photos, and maybe mobile Zoom-like video. I think I'm overthinking things, and would appreciate a professional's insight.

Thanks.
