Movies where the trailer was way better than the movie itself

I really thought I would love the movie 'Nine'. It was based on a hit broadway musical, a cast that had like 6 Oscar winners in it (Day-Lewis, Kidman, Cotillard, Loren, Cruz, Dench). The trailer was just fabulous.

Then I saw the movie and realized the best parts of the movie were in the trailer. The rest of it put you to sleep.

The rest of the movie is usually just filler to set up the cool explosions you see in the trailer.

Worst Charlene Theron movie ever. Not her fault. Just one of those pointless movies where the main character is so unlikeable you don't really care what happens to her.

The arc in that character was significant. She learned the lesson she was suppose to learn.

You're probably right about the one-liners, but I hardly noticed it because I'll watch just about anything that these two women perform in.

This was instituted about 20 years ago since trailers were taking up too much time before the main feature.
However, the major studios each get one exception per year.
I'm betting THE HOBBIT trailer will be WB's exception...

The Key Art Awards has been around for 20 years or so.
The Golden Trailer Awards for at least 10-12 years.
And a few years ago, The Cutter Awards began.
I've won a few here and there over the last 25 years...
