I was doing a little spelunking online for a law firm where I used to work. One of the attorneys is listed as deceased, which I kind of remembered. He was a really good guy, and though I didn't last very long at that firm, I always liked him and his secretary.
It took a minute or two, but I finally dredged up the secretary's name from the morass of memory, and decided to see if she was on Facebook. I figured she was retired, and she is, and tracked her down to Florida. As I said, I always liked her, and we got on very well for many years, before and after working at that firm. According to Facebook, she's a rabid Trumper. Fu-u-u-u-uck.

(54,770 posts)I have found decades old acquaintances who are true blue, even though I figured they were rabid trumpsters.

(522 posts)my dad worked at a law firm with Rudolph Giuliani.
My dad was always a Barry Goldwater conservative, but saw thru TFG's BS and voted Democrat for the first time in his life.
My dad went on to personally fire Rudy!

(51,438 posts)heard from him in 50 years. We spent a wonderful evening together and he apologized for ending our relationship over a non-existent jealousy. We traded phone numbers and emails. For a few months I had visions of one of those 'lost' love, rekindled stories. Image how disappointed I was to discover he was a T***p supporter!

(82,849 posts)I have a unique name, so I figure that anyone who knows me or knew me back in the day can easily find me and send a friend request. I always check their page. I've only turned down a few, but they earned it.

(25,816 posts)I also never respond to a random friend request from someone I don't already know. Merely having some friends in common isn't good enough.
