I just want to tell you that I love your long quasi-stream of consciousness judiciously punctuated posts on everyday life. Being with your pups, your boys and your wife. What comes through to me from your posts is a deep appreciation of the precious moments that make up our lives. Moments that pass so quickly and often go unannounced.
Often on an otherwise ordinary day, I will pause and look to the sky and a voice in me says - Stop, here now - notice, this is your life. How beautiful, random and unfathomable that I exist at all, am sentient and can notice. Here is the sky, the earth, your life, people you love. When I read your posts, I sense that remembering to notice and appreciate the goodness that we do have, despite the worldly problems we would so like to change.
Like you, I LOVE dogs and their endearing, heart-melting ways. To me, they are God-like in their unconditional love. I am of the belief that we will never be good enough for them. I consider my dog, the finest dog that ever lived, though I know I'd have many who claim the same. My dog is a regal, loyal, gentle Great Pyrenees who is ready to protect every life form. Sometimes I will be petting her absent-mindedly and then her warm mammal presence makes me wake up from my endless trivial thoughts and savor the moment and the time we have together, alive here on this ever-miraculous earth.
I don't know if I am expressing this well or even interpreting your writing as you intend. But in either case, something in what you write speaks to me and I like it and reading your posts very much. Keep on savoring Duncanpup!
