Mrs. Aristus is at her knitting convention for the first time in three years.

Strict mask policies and social distancing suggestions, and recommendations to get vaccinated and boostered. So she feels safe there.

These were the times when I used to slam a joint and get wasted for the day, knowing I'd be back on Earth in time to go back and drive her home.

Not anymore. With our grandson living with us now, I have to be a little more abstemious...

First time I’ve been there in two years. Everyone was masked.

It felt terrific! I spent all my allowance!

If I recall, you used to read the bible and drink milk while the Misses was gone. Then later fall asleep in fetal position weeping over her being away from you. I got a memory like a rusty trap.

Knitters take knitting very seriously. It's a way of life, and they are very protective of its image. Call it 'crocheting', and you're on your own.
