one of life's greatest challenges to to FIND a place to put that litter box that those dogs cannot get to, there must be something we humans do not understand about those "Kitty Tootsie Rolls", like cow pies, must be something "special".

cut a hole in the top of the lid,

and then the dog can't get to the litter cuz it's too tall for her to reach.

they sell them that way too, but you can make 'em yourself for much cheaper.

Roughneck® Clear 66 Qt: (#3R42) google this

I need this exact box because I also developed a contraption where I put the same box into a cedar chest, had a hole cut into the chest
and they use this box inside the chest...this one is a side entry, but because it's in a wooden cedar chest...dog also can't get into it.

I couldn't find a way to stop her from doing it, so I had to train my cat to stand in front of the door like a dog to be let out to go.
I have to admit, I don't miss cleaning the litterbox.

We could reach in and unhook the string so we could get into the room with the litter box. But the dog could not figure out string theory.

And has a little 'tunnel' for the cat to enter. Worked for my Scottish Terriers. I think it is called a booda dome.
Definitely worth the investment.

cat food is made with such strong flavors to appeal to cats, that the scent that remains in their poop really appeals to dogs. Didn't make it less icky though. >^.^<

We have no cats now, so temporarily we don't have THAT problem. However.... when I take Murphy the Jack Russell terrier walking, I have to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't find something special to roll in.

and not only would he eat it, but he'd make a total mess. I'd come home to the catbox dragged from the wood floor onto the carpet, dumped over. Then dear dog would eat the "treats" and proceed to pee all over the litter.
I created every conceivable blockade to keep the dog out of the room where the catbox was, but the dog always figured out a way in after a couple of hours.
