(8,203 posts)Do suspenders make a man HOT!!!
Aristus
(66,293 posts)I should know. Im nobodys idea of hot, but when I wear suspenders, women love to come up behind me and snap the elastic on my suspenders.
I dont complain

What would you think of Jen Psaki taking over for Rachel?
Aristus
(66,293 posts)herself, Jen Psaki can.
Strong, intelligent women and the role they play in our society are the reason Im proud to be a liberal Democrat.

(64,931 posts)Im keeping it simple with some cold beer and some basketball, after cooling off in the not so hot hot tub with my wife and watching the sun set and the soft lights turn on out back.
Enjoy!

(66,293 posts)That was 2006. Has it been that long?
Captain Zero
(6,785 posts)Those are made with gin, mango puree, lemon juice and of course club soda. It was refreshing. I am not a big fan of rum, but be sure to enjoy yours, Aristus.

(15,803 posts)My former neighbor sold their house a year ago. The new owner paid over a million for it, and was going to tear it down. The new garage was going to be over 1500 sq ft, and the house? Ugh. Way too big.
Today, the house went back on the market. No more demo. The old house is still there, hopefully to be purchased by a family that needs a normal sized home.

(23,949 posts)Good grief. My late parents whole house was about 1300 sq ft.
It wouldve been utterly ridiculous.
Way oversized house for the property. Not to say there arent very large houses here but they are on appropriate sized lots. These folks were trying to cram a large house on a small lot.

(1,292 posts)Not kidding! Its World Cocktail Day so constructing and imbibing your favorite (constructed) tipple is a great way of showing your solidarity with all the people of the world who also need a little help getting through the day
For instance: The Margarita
In a shaker add:
Juice of 1/2 lime
1 1/2 oz of Tequila (not Cuervo! Their Cuervo Gold sold in the US for many years was so adulterated that the US version couldnt be sold in Mexico. I recommend Herradura which was originally imported by Bing Crosby. Yeah, the White Christmas guy. No shit. Look it up!)
3/4 oz Cointreau (Yes its French, but look up Cinco de Mayo to see why thats OG).
Fill shaker with ice. Wrap shaker with a clean bar towel. Shake 25 times (when I was a union bartender in San Francisco the union rule was to shake 25 times, but no more! 25! Any less threatens the integrity of the cocktail. More than that risks whats become known as carpal tunnel syndrome and we dont owe those bosses in their Bohemian and Pacific Union clubs any more than that, the bastids! Huelga!)
Rim an up glass with lime. Dip rim in salt. Strain cocktail into glass. Garnish with a round of lime
Enjoy in the Erma Rombauer way (author of the seminal cookbook Joy of Cooking) in two or three fulsome sips.

(66,293 posts)One could argue that this ensures that I remain in a bubble of liberal media content. But we are the ones who can face the truth and deal with the facts. Were not a cult like the GOP.

I like them a lot.
I dont like a lot of todays super-sweet, sugary cocktails.
