The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsTomorrow's the day, my dear friends......for my choleycystectomy...And for vibes, if you will...
I will be so glad to have this over and done with!
Hopefully it will remain day surgery; I really want to get home, to my own computer and bed.
7:30 a.m. at the hospital; 9:30 a.m. for the surgery to start. They have 90 minutes allotted. Then an hour or two in recovery...
Then hopefully, home.
I thank all of you for standing by me...

I should go home tomorrow, if all goes as planned.
Thanks for the video--it was fascinating.

(2,682 posts)wondering what all the fuss was about. Take drugs if you need them. Don't over-do just because you feel pretty good. After all, it is surgery and they'll be messing with your innards. We'll all be watching for your return.

(36,818 posts)The gallbladder is a small sock that stores digestive fluids from the liver and connects to the small intestines. It's most commonly removed due to complications from gall stones. When they remove it, the digestive fluids go directly to the small intestines, and most people adapt to not having one, although digestive problems sometimes haunt some people who have it removed, it's still better than the alternative which is living with gall bladder attacks which can be extremely painful.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,523 posts)I appreciate your good wishes a lot!

(34,131 posts)You must be doing good to be posting tonight!
I got my second new knee July 25. While the knee did great, I had a lot of nausea in the hospital. Then when I got to the rehab hospital, the first couple of days went so good I overdid it and spent a couple of days hurting more than I should. Once I stopped doing more than I was supposed to, everything came together and I was cleared with flying colors.
Getting the extra physical therapy between the knee replacements really helped. I was stronger going into this second surgery. Of course having a good leg to stand on helped a lot. It already hurts less than the knee did before the surgery.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,523 posts)I'm really glad that you're doing so well, too.
I'm a little surprised at how good I feel tonight. I had a little dinner (mostly soup) and it tasted so good.
One of my puncture wounds is quite a lot more sore than the others, so I took half a Vicodin, had a nap, and now it's much better too...
I am very pleasantly surprised at how all this is progressing.
I think you'll be making that hike with your husband next year! Congrats!
