I watched Lunch with Soupy when I was in grade school in Detroit in 1948-9 or so. Yes we had enough time to go home for lunch. Than saw him in a stage show in Montreal in 1965. Quite a different show.

In 8th grade we all used to race home to watch Soupy's show so we could memorize the lines.

My favorite was the show Soupy had on Saturdays called The Adventures of Philo Kvetch
