for an Oscar winning Best Picture but still fun. The next year producer Mike Todd had a party for the picture at MSG. Some of the cast was there like Liz Taylor. Cedric Hardwick bounced around hard, riding on top of an elephant. It was broadcast by CBS as an event and Walter Cronkite was MC. A young Jim McKay interviewed guests on the floor. I often wonder if this was the model for future political conventions covered by TV.
