Woman adopts a shelter cat. Then doctors tell her to give the cat up.



My mom was allergic to cats too, but that never stopped her. She didn't mind the stuffy nose or welts if a cat scratched her. I inherited a lot of allergies from her, but thank goodness cats aren't one of them.

She would have to give the cats up but left the choice to her.

My allergist said he’s learned over the years that no one would listen to him if he said to give up their pets. So he says “don’t let them sleep in your bed.” That’s impossible too

They both lived to be 20 and I still miss them. The doctor did not believe me that my family would rather get rid of me.
