(21,858 posts)i've always felt so self-conscious and shy and anxious whenever I had to dance. I could never do any type of actual dance. hell I even found step-aerobics too confusing. I envy people like this so much. it looks like such fun. and actually finding a like minded partner.
are these 2 professional dancers? do we know?
this was great to watch.

(17,425 posts)My dad had 7 (approximately trying count them as I type this) brothers. All blue collar guys. Hard workers, always filthy from work. But on the weekends, they would dress to the nines and go out dancing. All of the boys were known around town as being SERIOUSLY good dancers, and no one ever taught them how to dance. it was kind of a natural talent they all had.
I used to be a beer drinker, and the only time I dared to dance was when I had a few beers in me, and I wasn't very good. I quit drinking entirely 10-11 years ago, and something changed in me. I got more confidence or something, and found myself dancing at weddings, etc. while completely sober. I don't know what happened, but I'm a good dancer now.
I'm not like the people in this video, but I'm pretty good for not having had dance lessons. I think a lot of it has to do with not giving a shit how you look to other people, and having the ability to loosen up and move to the music as you feel it. I probably looked like a jerk when I danced while drinking, but if you can build your confidence and do it while sober, without trying to bust any ridiculous moves, you look more natural and a lot of the movements just kind of happen naturally.
I think when it comes down to it, no one is really judging your dancing ability anyway. If you take the attitude that no one cares what you look like dancing, you can relax a lot more and just move to the music.
