I know what it's like to have an animals drive you crazy trying to get you to do something. My dog Paco will come sit near/on me and every 10 seconds he moves, just a little. I'll be watching TV and won't notice him at first but after a short while he starts driving me crazy and I am up getting him food or letting him out or doing whatever his bidding is at that moment.
They make it so you either pay attention or go mad.
