Many dog years ago the Mayan rulers asked for human sacrifices to appease the weather. It did not work. So either the rulers self sacrificed or the people "volunteered" them.

In any event it's time to chase our doggie tails in excitement. For the Mayans are still there! It is just the ones who had the know how got killed off.
