When I was in school, I had a summer job at the amusement park, Storytown USA, in Lake George. They had actual storybook characters back then, Little Bo Peep, Alice in Wonderland, Mary Had a Little Lamb - who walked around with an actual sheep! Me, I was Cinderella - got to ride around in a Pumpkin Coach!

for me that I can remember was Cinderella complete with "glass" (clear plastic) slippers.

I think I was 5 years old.

Since my Dad's mother was Dutch and brought me actual wooden shoes. I don't remember much, but there are photos.

As for Cinderella, it wasn't the best job, standing out in the hot sun wearing a long dress. And it was tough to even slip away to go to the restroom since I was constantly stopped to take a photo with someone's kid! But I was a good sport and my boss liked me, so after two summers as Cinderella, the guy who drove the purple train through the Jungle (woods) must have graduated, so I inherited that job which I loved!
