I tasted my dog's food. Chopped ground dinner with beef. I just tasted it with the tiniest of bites. It tasted surprisingly good. I think it's only fair that I know, since my dog has already concluded that anything I am eating will automatically be something that he should eat, too. After all, I am the pack leader. I should know.
So, now that I have identified another emergency source of food, I present you with Tom Paxton's culinary advice:

(9,534 posts)We found it's actually cheaper to feed our dog a can of tuna now and then, or to get a rotisserie chicken at Costco and cut it up for a few meals, though we still have cans of quality dog food for her some days.
There's really no way to eat cheap and eat healthy anymore for humans or pets.

(8,698 posts)I just put the meat over kibble. I don't mind cooking for them.
Yrs ago, I saw some women who were friends of friends checking out in a grocery store with flour tortillas, green chili and dog food.
Yup! They were making burritos to sell at some event.

No pot lucks
No salad bars
No group picnics
If you are not sure about what you are putting on your plate....don't
I still pretty much live by the warnings.....
Dog food burritos? Yeah i would take a hard pass on that.
