Do you recognize this?
"Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room Bed sitter people look back and lament Another days useless energy spent Impassioned lovers wrestle as one Lonely man cries for love and has none New mother picks up and suckles her son Senior citizens wish they were young Cold hearted orb that rules the night Removes the colors from our sight Red is gray and yellow white But we decide which is right And which is an illusion" That's the last spoken portion of "Nights in White Satin". Somehow, it still impresses me.

7. I saw a top tier MB tribute band last month
Time Traveler had an excellent spot lighted orator deliver it from stage center.
I'm shy of tribute bands, but Time Traveler is outstanding. And my friend plays lead. |

A signature verse from those times.

9. I remember.
Best music ever... what a time.
I heard, for the first time, "White Rabbit" in the em club on my last night in SE Asia. I figured that that the world was going to be much more interesting... and it was. And so beautiful too. |

10. Yes! They were the first major concert I ever saw.
My older sister & her husband were fans & they took me along because I was just getting into music, playing trumpet & guitar.
I must have been about 13. |

11. I love the song. Alas, I had an unfortunate first impression of it.
The first time I heard the song was on an AM car radio. I instantly formed the mental image of "knights in white satin," and to this day I visualize eight or ten mounted knights, their banners flying, all dressed in white satin, traveling to some unknown destination. Nothing will dislodge the image from my mind, even though I realize the lyrics mean something quite different.

12. It's off their "Days of Future Past" album from 1967
Their second album, but their first with the members we most associate with their music.
I had that album, and the next 6, up to "Seventh Sojourn". Their music and lyrics are captivating, and unique. One of my favorite groups. I love all their albums, but this one... |

14. Tuesday Afternoon was on the same album
Both songs with their melody and music seemed transcendant at the time, and they have remained timeless.
The Moody Blues recorded many classics. Another one that sticks with me is Legend of a Mind. |

15. If only they had made the Beatles come to London
instead of catering to their crying to have the battle of the bands in Birmingham,
the Moody Blues might have soared higher, plus the winning prize was generous! |
