(107,616 posts)Albeit it may be hard to get great reception depending on where you are. Fox "entertainment" side of things (as opposed to Fox "news" channel) is still one of the original networks that should be available over the air. You should check it out since you'd have time to play with an antenna if you need to. And if it doesn't work, you could do a free trial subscription to a streaming service that includes it (e.g., hulu tv , youtube tv, sling tv, and there are others).

You can always stream the game online for free at www.sportsurge.net
It's a great site when your favorite team isn't being broadcast in your area, you can always get it online.
They have free streams for virtually any sporting event there is....NFL, NBA, NCAA football and basketball, NHL, you name it, they stream it.
We have Dish, and it seems like the local stations always have a contract dispute around this time every year. It pisses me off, but there isnte anything I can do about except to stream it live.

(107,616 posts)I ended up paying $$$ for a streaming service so I could watch some of the Bowl Games that were on ESPN although some playoffs were on CBS, that I get on my measly cable service. Is this like the free streams for some of the cable news sites like MSNBC?

(107,616 posts)I assume they are "legal." I know a lot of people do use them to stream, albeit my understanding is that the stability of streams is sort of iffy.

(5,825 posts)So I don't know about the iffy part.
On sportsurge you do get fed some ads, like when you push the arrows for full screen, you automatically get switched to an ad site, but you just 'x' it out and push the full screen button again and it works. A minor irritation, considering that it's not costing you a penny to watch.
When you click on a game, there are several streaming links to choose ftom. Some have more ads than others, but if you navigate around a !little bit, you'll find the one that works best for you.
If I can do it, virtually anyone can.

(36,631 posts)I built one out of 1/8 inch brazing rods for my garage and get over 30 channels. Didn't know that the only worse metal I could have chosen was stainless steel. It works. Built the one for my house from aluminum rods. It works, too, for even more distant stations (about 60 miles). Made one once out of ordinary 14 gauge copper house wiring (insulation removed) and taped it to the inside of a window, just to see if it would work. It did. Picked up stations 25 miles away.
Check for available stations near you:
