Why is Youtube recommending republican videos to me all of a sudden?

I have been watching videos about conspiracy-theorists for a few years now. Flat-Earthers, Moorish-Americans and Sovereign-Citizens are a pet-peeve of mine.

About 1-2 months ago, Youtube started recommending Babylon Bee, which a quasi-comedic media-outlet that makes cynical and bitter jokes about anybody and anyone... except Republicans. Some of their comedic writing is not bad, but they exclusively make jokes at the expense of Democrats, liberals, environmentalists, feminists, equal-rights activists...

About 2 days ago, Youtube recommended a video by republican Senator Josh Hawley, how this manliest of men totally owns somebody with his tough committee-questions. Today was another one. And a video by republican Representative Dan Crenshaw.



WTF is going on? I haven't changed my viewing-habits, so what makes Youtube think that I'm interested in the personal Youtube-channels of Republicans???

1. when in youtube , next to the title of the video there will be a :

when u hover your mouse over it . that will bring up a menu with several items as follows including do not recomened channel among others . good luck.

2. Friend of mine told me, that if you turn on autoplay on Youtube and just let it run continuously,

within 24 hours you will get nothing but Joe Rogan videos.

Don't know if that's true, but it sounds about right.

I am getting recommendations for misogynistic videos, about how evil and duplicitous women are, and videos of women getting "smackdowns!" or "getting what they deserve!". I have never clicked on any of these, but they dominate my recommendations.

I reckon my profile fits their idea of an incel.
