In her Bible. She was a Democrat through and through, and we had many conversations over the years about justice and mercy. Ive been having kind of a hard time, with some good days here and there. She had this particular verse a little more highlighted than some others, so I know this meant a lot to her, and it is something she believed in. I feel the same way. I just thought I would share this with you all. ❤️

I saved that, so I can look at it every now and then. Thanks to your mom and you for posting it.

(13,776 posts)Like the way Christians are supposed to pray in secret and not on street corners to impress everyone with how pious they are. She marked that passage with no knowledge of how youd see it one day
it resonated with her and it was special to her in the truest sense.
What a beautiful way to find out a little more about her, and what a wonderful gift to leave behind.
Im so sorry for your loss. She must have been such a delightful person.

And youre right about some Christians. My mom was rather private about her beliefs, but not with me. I will miss our talks, but thankful I have so many to remember. ❤️

(13,360 posts)I found some little notes in my mom's jewelry box last summer after she passed.
One was a quote from a movie she really loved from back in the 80's "Windwalker"
"Do not fear death, for as Spring begins, So death begins with birth.
It is only a step in the Great Circle of Life!"
What's interesting is that this was a VHS movie, which means for her to write it down, she would have had to rewind it a couple times... so it meant al lot to her.
And it was written in her beautiful handwriting, which had declined after her first stroke...
Huge Hugs for your loss... it hasn't been a year and I think of her every day...
I'm so very sorry

And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

I'm still going, but I still miss her, too. I don't think one gets over grief; they usually, though, get through it.
Hang on. It's what she would want.
