(23,091 posts)I hate being cold, way more so as an oldster than in my younger days. I especially hate cold extremities, head, hands and feet. I wear gloves and a cloth hat that pulls down around my ears and long socks with my tennis shoes when walking on cold mornings, along with a suitable jacket and even a scarf if it's really cold. I've turned into my mother, lol.

(110 posts)One can always put on another sweater when it's cold. But when it's hot, one can only get so naked...

(23,091 posts)I wear more clothes, they wear less. I was born and raised in FL, I know heat. When outside, you stay in the shade, wear light colored light weight loose cotton and always have cool water available. Work in the yard in the early morning. Hats for when you're in the sun.

(2,809 posts)Even where I've spent winter in relatively mild climate zones, winter chill gets set into my bones and aches continously around this time of yahr.
Which is why I want to spend my retirement winters walking distance from a hot spring.

(3,321 posts)I don't eat soup in the warmer days of summer. In the fall and winter a bowl of hot soup is a comforting for of sustenance. I expect it
to be hot and warm me inside and out on a cold day, especially if there is rain or snow. Cold soup misses the mark.

(3,321 posts)Chilled cucumber soup, gazpacho or other soups that are meant to be served cold, so I'd have them in the summer. Oh yes, about that
hair on fire, republicon Rep. She's shocking, and an embarrassment.
