With a rueben or hamburger, I'll have a beer. Sometimes I will make a mimosa with brunch.
What is your favorite and what do like to drink it with.

(37,016 posts)With a Shrimp Po Boy and Fries, early afternoon in July overlooking Bourbon Street from a French Quarter Balcony, the light refrain of jazz drifting through the air, thoughts of a night on the town front and center in a young Sailors mind enjoying liberty for the first time in a spell. Let the good times roll. Thx for the memories.

(37,016 posts)I love the place. Old world charm, wacky residents. Yeah. Lots of bad stuff, crime and corrupt politicians, but oh so loveable. Ya cant go a week in the summer without a party or festival of some sort.
Thanks for starting this thread. catfish po boys are awesome too.

(102,141 posts)(Belgium Brewery-Fort Collins, CO) remains my favorite microbrew beer, though I'm more likely to gravitate to Michelob Ultra, given my propensity for lower-carb dieting.
I've had a bottle of 12-yo Scotch for decades now. That came out a few times when forced to watch Trump during the Presidential Debates.
Pretty much a teetotaler when you average it out nowadays, though.

(28,243 posts)Experience has taught me that one of these is enough during an evening. If I make the mistake of having a second one, I start getting stupid really quick.
Dirty martini straight up with blue cheese olives. I can only have one. With good vodka. Ive found those happy hour martinis give me hangovers.
Paladin
(28,243 posts)I do have to tell the barkeeps to take it easy on the olive juice, though. I want a good Martini---not saltwater. It's a personal thing---I have a number of friends who are very fond of hyper-dirty Martinis, which is fine with me.

(64,877 posts)I don't drink much. In fact, I drink zero beers (Peroni, Bitburger, Heineken or Guinness).
I use way(!) more wine for cooking than drinking. Probably 20:1
But, I'm a sucker for 18 year old single malt scotch. (Glenmorangie is my fave, followed by Glenlivet). Maybe 3 one ounce servings (neat) a year.
And, a couple times a year I'll have on shot, sipped, of good tequila.
I probably only drink the alcohol equivalent of a case of beer per year, but I enjoy what I do drink.

(7,566 posts)I'm not a recovering alcoholic or anything but I hate the thought of literally pissing away my money.

Malibu Sunset
Mai Tai
Sex on the Beach
Strawberry Daiquiri

(24,253 posts)for about the last ten years but recently I found a great Irish Whiskey called Proper Twelve. It's a little more expensive than the Jim Beam I've been drinking, but much better. And it's on sale right now because of St. Patrick's Day coming up.
