The amazingly beautiful “Kindred Spirits” statue in Cork, Ireland honoring the Choctaw Nation’s incredible generosity during the Great Potato Famine of 1845-52.

In 1847 the Choctaw Nation, reeling from hardships of their own, managed to raise $170 to help the Irish suffering from famine. In 2020 the wonderful Irish people returned the favor by Gofunding $3 million in COVID relief funds for Indigenous communities hit hard by the pandemic.
