Doggo would probably wear itself out doing this all day if given the chance.

My only caveats would be: make sure you have a yard (doesn't need to be too big); and try to make it a female.

Male bassets, God bless them, can be a little too disobedient - especially when it comes to potty training, which they seems impervious to.

That said, they're great company - and you'd never have to worry about their biting someone.

It was a family thing. Growing up my mom would only allow female pups and I'm not sure why. I have two rescued sweet gurls right now, both snoozing at the foot of my bed.

That dog sussed out a perfect napping place. Notice the elevated feet, and how the space seems to fit him/her.

Sleeping is what Bassets do best - and they can make themselves comfy almost anywhere.

Bassets are funny even without trying - and here's the kicker: they don't like it when you laugh at them.

Which, of course, makes them even funnier.

I love the part when he stops the ball because it started falling down too soon.
Amazing!

I'd roll a ping pong ball down the stairs. She'd run after it and catch it at the bottom of the stairs. She didn't bring it back, though.
