(21,857 posts)The Moody Blues don't get enough love.
Next time I'm near a perfume counter I want to sample this.

Responses to the ad, other than the music, are of course about Chalamet. Including whether people think he can be as effective an ambassador for the fragrance as Gaspard Ulliel, the French actor who starred in that ad campaign since 2010. Ulliel died after a very bad skiing accident the winter before last.
You can see some of his work for Chanel, as well as comments on Chalamet, here:

I do hope this new ad campaign makes a lot of new Moodies fans.
I don't usually pay much attention to ads. That time is very useful for taking cars of small chores like housework that can be done a bit at a time, phone calls that shouldn't take more than a minute or two, etc.Happened to catch this one Friday night when I was already half asleep, channel surfing the late-night shows (Michelle Obama was on, a rerun of a Kimmel show from last December, though I'm not sure I was still watching Kimmel when the ad came on). I was too tired to do the usual automatic look around for some chore to take care of. But hearing the Moodies woke me up instantly. I wasn't sure about Chalamet for the ads, but I had liked him in Dune. And I woke up enough to make a quick note about the ad so I could search for it and post it here.

(21,857 posts)One with Johnny Depp playing a loud guitar and one with Natalie Portman with Janis Joplin song "cry baby". I love Janis Joplin but using her song for a perfume ad seemed incongruous to me. But yes I hope the music brings new fans as it did for Kate Bush -- Running Up that Hill when they used it in the show Stranger Things. It was fantastic that Kate Bush was introduced to a new generation.
And I thought the Bleu fragrance was new but it's been around for years. I don't recall ever seeing an ad for it with Gaspard. I fast forward thru ads when possible. (I like your idea of doing a quick chore-must remember that).
But this is by far the best perfume ad: 😉
