(25,816 posts)I do the Sunday NYT every week, in ink, and quickly. And the local daily duos.
I have noticed that the Friday NYT puzzles, though smaller, are quite difficult.
11 years ago I started dated the lady who has been with me since. I work construction and was eager to show her that I had brains.
She thought she was the "queen of crosswords" so I had her print out two copies of the one she did daily, from the Houston paper.
Ready, set, go. I was done when she was only half way through. I got laid.
Too bad that the NYT charges to get their puzzles. I may have to buy the paper tomorrow to see what you got.
I live in So. Az. and we have a guy down here named Merle Reagle who puts out a great puzzle every Thursday in the Tucson paper.
Here's to you puzzler.

(6,996 posts)NY Times has very high standards for the quality of their puzzles. Did Will Shortz contact you at all about editing in any way (changing clues, etc.)?
I'm another NYT addict. Omnibus books (all in the difficult category) occupy much of my time now that I am retired and don't have the daily subway ride doing the puzzles.
... he just accepted it as is. Will Shortz typically makes changes to many of the clues (to adjust for the difficulty-level, etc.).
Thanks for the kind words... lots more puzzles (from me) in the pipeline for Friday and Saturday addicts
