3. These are Fundraisers

Savannah State plays big school who get easy wins and pay for it. Savannah will raise almost a million between the two games, which helps run their entire sports program. They are not supposed to be able to compete with schools that spend more per week that SS spends per year. These games are exactly what SS expects. I'm sure they would want to score once or twice, but they know is going to be butt kickings.

my family is DEEP into Marshall football - playing "money games" that is how they got going again. They still do.

BTW- Florida State gets HUGE ratings. All their games are money games that is why they play so many night and Thursday games.

I'm not talking about the TV revenue sharing, which goes through the conferences. I'm talking about the check Florida State writes to kick an easy team's butt before the conference schedule starts. They pay big for an easy win and help a school like SS field other sports. Its really a bribe to get embarrassed, but SS state has to do it to keep an intercollegiate sports program. Many schools have gone intermural, but these small schools can play 2 of these games a year and keep 20 teams on the field in their small conference. Its the ugly side of the business, but ot benefits everyone. Still, I wish they were able to score a couple agaisnt the 2nd and 3rd team players that were in the 4th qtr.

7. FSU was much classier than I would have been

they stopped well below 100, but I would have put 100 on them so that SSU would have fired their AD for signing those kids up for that.
