Video: Revisiting Jon Stewart's Post-9/11 Speech On The Daily Show

http://gothamist.com/2011/09/11/video_revisiting_jon_stewarts_first.php

On September 20th, 2001 The Daily Show returned for the first time after the tragedy on the 11th, and Jon Stewart opened with the below memorable speech, which is worth revisiting. In it, a choked-up Stewart (who says, "luckily we can edit this&quot , hopes that we'll be able to ride out the storm.

Full transcript and video below; his speech ends: "The view from my apartment was the World Trade Center... Now it's gone. They attacked it. This symbol of... of American ingenuity and strength.... and labor and imagination and commerce and it's gone. But you know what the view is now? The Statue of Liberty... the view from the south of Manhattan is the Statue of Liberty. You can’t beat that."

That's pretty freakin' awesome, Jon.
