Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsCan they do this? Shia LaBeouf is having real sex in his movie Nymphomaniac.
What happened to the acting part of acting? What happens if they need multiple takes?
According to reports, Shia's role requires having actual sex for the cameras, as opposed to what's been required in his past movies. He spoke about the unusual requirement in an interview last month. Shia said, "It is what you think it is. There's a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says we're doing it for real. And anything that is 'illegal' will be shot in blurred images. But other than that, everything is happening."

(8,217 posts)I mean examples are:
9 Songs - With Penetration
Caligula - No Penetration but with Oral
Antichrist - Used Porn Actors as Body Doubles
So yeah, it is nothing new. What do you expect from Lars von Trier?

(8,217 posts)If I wanted porn I would go for porn.
Not porn lite that had a pretty bad sound track.
Although, I have to admit, I've done one of the scenarios there before I've even seen that flick.
Hrm too much info.

I think the line is getting blurred.

(46,576 posts)care for it. The one that at least had the semblance of a plot which dealt with nudity, was the Story of O.

(5,340 posts)That would be a legitimate question, except for the fact that Shia LaBeouf has nothing at all to do with the "the acting part of acting," as far as I can tell.
(Sorry, I just think he has one of the most punchable faces in all of Hollywood and is a mediocre actor at best.)

(14 posts)This is just another step toward Shia LaBeoufs career being reduced to filming actual porn. The highlight of his career were the Transformer movies and he's barely watchable in those.

(16,191 posts)When major actors are considering roles, they are usually provided with most of the roles requirements, and often all or part of the script. Like any actor, it's his choice whether or not to pursue the role. If he had a problem with it, he could have passed it up. If he didn't like the script, he could have passed it up. There are plenty of roles that don't require hooking up.
As others have noted, it's been done many times before. The thing is...if the movie calls for a sex scene, and both actors are completely comfortable with the idea of having sex with each other, then why NOT just do the real thing? Why go through all the trouble of faking it, if both people are willing to just do it?

(53,795 posts)He's too adorable. Any woman attempting to fornicate with Shia LaBeouf will immediately become overwhelmed by his off-the-charts cuddliness and begin cooing at him like he was a wet kitten wrapped in a valour bathmat, and thus replacing all feeling of sexual arrousal with a bizarre mixture of pity and asexual adoration.
