A Southern custom: Fireworks on Thanksgiving
Fireworks on Christmas Eve
fireworks on New Years Eve and New Years Day

Lots of Valium for the dog.

and it is not yet midnight here....sigh.

9. A few went off here a while ago. When I used to live in TX the area had a lot going on at midnight.

There were factory whistles, the sound of ships and tugboats, eighteen wheeler and car horns, bells, fireworks and even the occasional gunfire.

As far as the dogs and cats are concerned, they have to be kept inside just like most holidays. Bad things can happen.

Happy New Year, we've got about three and a half hours to go here. Most of the evening has been very quiet here.
