Will had a thing about sweat and sweating. In a quote (I think from The Comedy Of Errors), a rather distastful woman is describes thus:

"She sweats. A man may go overshoes in the grime of it!"

Then he started mooning around that rich pretty-boy Henry Wriothsley, who gave Will access to his library, and, rumor has it, access to more than that...

Well, he got his fifty pounds to buy his partnership in The Globe from somewhere...

I took a look at them when the Earl of Southampton was preparing them for publication. I remember saying "Will! Dude! Her? Really?"

I think she was his inspiration for Lady Macbeth. Or one of the Weird Sisters, maybe...

After three hours of lurching and limping across the stage, hunched over, cradling his bunched left arm, shambling here, there, and everywhere, with a final exhausting battle at the end when he was just about done in, Richard Burbage came backstage, sweating and panting heavily, and glared at Will.
