Why would 18 people ignore me?

Each one, of course, has his or her own reason, but I think that 18 people could indicate a trend. It was at 17 people not too long ago, it's only growing.

I'm wondering… Why?

Am I too mean to people?

Are my frequent musical vid postings somewhat tedious and objectionable?

Are my frequent rants and essays perhaps a source of contention?

Am I too rude to other posters?

Is there something that I'm missing, or should I just forget about caring about it?

I only generally read my subscription post and the Greatest page. I read you when you make Greatest and I have never experienced you being the slightest bit objectionable in that realm.

GLBT rights, and the way we refer to some non-hetero people here.

I have tried to stay out of those. I am glad that DU can be a safe place for GLBT members. But when it comes to some of the issues raised here, I ask my GLBT real-life friends. I get better answers from them, and no argument. They tell me if I seem insensitive, but they know I love them and want what is best for them.

I think there were some DUers who did not like some of the things you said in regard to those arguments. I was surprised. I do not remember anything specific.

I think one person is ignoring me. There were many more than that during the primaries!

I read your posts. I do not always respond. But I think DU would be poorer without you.

I'm not rude. Don't call posters names. But I've committed the sin a few times of taking some stances that were unpopular to some extremists. They cannot take discussions on their topics. It's a "yes, I agree" party.

Example: I got one ignore after this exchange:

I post in response to something that Obama did indeed lose the first debate. Obama himself admitted as much and made a joke about it. His numbers went down after the first debate, while Romney was at his highest after that debate. Nate Silver talked about it.

The poster I responded to: He did not! Take it back! Obama won! Romney lied!

Me in response: We all know Romney lied. That's not the point. The purpose of the debate is to get votes. If you use that gauge, it moved votes....down for Obama, up for Romney. This is no big argument here. It's generally accepted. Even by Obama! He had a bad night. He's human.

The poster: He did not lose! He won! Take it back!

My response: I not only didn't take it back, I posted Obama's jokes (youtube) at the dinner that was televised, where Obama joked about his performance at the first debate. One of the jokes, which was pretty funny, was that he felt really rested tonight, esp since he had had that nice long nap during the first debate. I also posted SNL's skit on the debate, which was hilarious.

I was immediately placed on ignore. He might as well have placed Obama on ignore, since Obama agreed with ME. Some people have no sense of humor.

There is nothing to discuss, in their view. Even when you point out facts...even Obama himself admits he screwed up the debate (for example)....that will not do. You MUST agree with the poster.
