Why do SOME people say things that sound good but don't mean jack? And I don't mean politicians.

For instance:

A family member told me when I was moving to a much smaller place, that she'd do anything she could to help me. I asked her to take one of my 2 cats. Ack! She came up with some B.S.
story that her husband wouldn't allow it (threw him under the bus, that is.) By the way, this
woman likes cats and has a big house and lots of land.

A woman at work told my boss that she would loan us some employees from her dept. to help us out during a peak time. When asked about it later....she couldn't possibly spare them.

If you say things like this and don't mean a damn word of it, you are full of fecal matter!

There, I feel better.
