Pajamas, bathrobe, warm socks, and DU.

I'm starting to feel better now.

It's nice to be warm and indoors on a night like tonight. It's raining like sixty out there, and there's the usual bone-chilling, damp Northwest cold, as well.

A liberal's guilt is never far away, though. I couldn't help but think of at least a few of my patients who are out in this weather. Most of my patients stay at the shelters. But I have a few campers, too. Hope they're able to stay dry...

To all of my kind, thoughtful Lounge friends: Thank you for being there.

I love you all...

1. We love you too, my dear Aristus...

You sound very comfortable, and I'm glad. You have earned it.

2. Some hot chocolate later, perhaps.

(I may spike it with some brandy, too!...)

Glad you're feeling better.

At lease I have a roof for now. Don't know for how long if I don't get a job soon.

Add: Why is it when your sick, all your worries intensify? I does not matter if it is for yourself of for others, they still hit you like a ton of bricks.

8. Do you have a cat? You need a cat.

You'll feel better, sooner, with a nice warm purry cat on your lap.

9. Oh yes! A cat would be perfect!!

They say that cats can help relax when you are sick. They say if you can be calm and relax you heal faster!

12. There is scientific evidence

that petting a cat lowers a person's blood pressure (and the cat's). http://www.knowyourcat.info/info/humancontact.htm There is also some evidence that the frequency of a cat's purr helps with healing. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=why-do-cats-purr

Cats are good for you.

18. Four days a week, I work at a clinic that provides healthcare for the homeless.

It can be sad, but most of the time it's very rewarding. I love the work, and I love my patients. I'd love to have one of those "why-don't-they-just-get-a-job?" types and have them follow me around for a day. That would open their eyes to the reality of life in the homeless community pretty quick.
