He wheezed, his eyes ran, he couldn't meow. And he wasn't very bright. But we loved him.

Buddy was a stray that we took in as a kitten when he showed up crying on our doorstep. Buddy was a jerk. He missed the litter box on purpose. He pissed all over our heating registers so that I had to replace them. He wouldn't take his medicine.

It's been a couple of years since he died but I still miss that cat.

He was the most unhandsomest Japanese Chin you could ever look upon but he would always be there on a cold night to snuggle with you and warm your feet.

RIP Mikki

...that a guy worked hard on and he would probably like you to read it on his site. It's really not cool. Funny and poignant, certainly, but not cool.

There are lawsuits over these kinds of things. The author of this comic was involved in probably the most bizarre one possible. DU was involved in probably the lamest one possible. While I'm fairly positive that the author of this comic would be happy to have his some of his work reposted on DU, that's not the point.

Content creators want you to go to their site, and maybe buy a book or a poster or something, to pay the bills. People won't do that if entire works are reprinted elsewhere. Sure, some people will get a taste for this guy's comic, if they have never seen it before, and become fans of his site. Of course, that's how the webz work. But maybe they'll just go and look at his stuff on FunnyJunk, or here, or elsewhere. This is something that bothers me about the Sunday LOLcats as well. Someone just basically edits and reprints icanhascheezburger once a week. I said something about that once, months ago, and was basically told to go fuck myself.

Look, I don't feel like this is something that I want to "alert" on, because that's lame. I'd much rather have the person who posted this understand why it wasn't cool to post this entire thing. A little bit of it and then the link to the site, that's how the internet works. The entire thing?

Not cool...
