Writing a resume...

I have a FT job I like my FT job, I want to grow within my company. Should I include an objective which says that on ym resume or should I save it for the cover letter?

1. Put it in when there's an opening.

Take it out when you apply elsewhere.

5. Save it for the cover letter seems to be preferred these days.

Especially if you have a job and don't know when or where you will be applying.

6. I have an 'objective' statement & a 'summary of qualifications' (3 sentence paragraph)

... before all the nitty gritty of the CV itself starts. Seems to have helped, actually, because I have random headhunters calling me several times a week.

7. not according to the latest format, I just updated mine using the functional style

my headings:

Professional Summary: Three sentence type phrases about my career

Qualifications: bullet points about what I am qualified to do/ my position

Skills: bullet points giving the skills I have that make me qualified for my position

Work Summary: Job History, titles and dates

Certificates and Licensures

8. mine has one

I moved up a position last cycle and I felt that it was critical to put that on my resume that I was ready to move up the ladder. Once I have another cycle under my belt, I will take it off if I'm comfortable with the position or put it back on when I want to move up yet again.

It might be the first thing to go when I have to narrow it down to one page though.

It depends on your field too since every field seems to have a unique format for resumes.

9. I write resumes

and never include an "Objective" statement. A good, bullet-point "Summary of Qualifications" section at the top will give the reader plenty of info and your resume, without the "Objective", retains flexibility. Your objectives can usually be included in the cover letter.
