I'm cleaning out my closet, and I found this:
Anyone here know what it's for?
On the back, in English it says "Archdiocese Of North And South America."
That's the only part in English on it.

(149,580 posts)It says "St. Paul the Apostle" on the front of the coin.....I can just see it, right under his hand with the book, and his other arm.
The ribbon reminds me of the military ribbons, though.

(34,135 posts)"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not charity, I am become as a sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal."
When I google the phrase I get Christian sites and sources, which attribute it to I Corinthians 13:1

(14,819 posts)The text close to the Apostle's head is in Greek and the style is closer to the Orthodox ikonographic than the later Catholic styling. There was a Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of North and South America for most of the 20th century too, also the blue and white of the ribbon are typical colours for the Greeks.
Playing around on Google suggests that there is a 'Medal of Saint Paul' which is an award of the Orthodox Archdiocese, though the images which I could find seemed to have a different coloured ribbon...
