1. Our dog does that

She gets up on the couch between us and sits up and rest against the back of the couch and then reaches over and paws at one of us to get us to rub her.

She gets real animated about it if we don't respond right away too.

We have a chocolate lab rescue that demands constant reassurance of our devotion to her.

7. Corgi sheltie mix

She has a long body with these short little Corgi legs. It is kind of funny but such a wonderfully behaved dog.

She was a rescue and came fully trained.

of sheltie corgi mixes and there are some cute dogs! Also chow corgi and pug corgi, etc..
Once I saw a collie basset hound mix that was funny & cute- large, long, with short legs and a looong nose.

3. My cat does that. She's not a real needy kitty, but when she decides she wants attention,

she doesn't hesitate to ask for it. She will just reach out and tap me on the arm or the leg or even pull my hand toward her if I don't move fast enough.

6. Our pets will find a way to let us know what they need.

The chocolate lab paws at me until I figure out what PIA wants.

My Blue & Gold Macaw will stomp back and forth across the top of her cage until I pick her up. If I don't get there (because I'm posting on DU or cooking) when Frodo wants me, she'll walk through the house looking for me.

4. I get the tap and rub to open a window

sometimes the most pitiful mewl is included if I seem too slow.

"It's too cold" does not seem to be an appropriate response either. If I don't open the window, paws will be placed on the windowsill and I get big eyes saying "Now open?"

I'm really quite trainable.

8. PIA bounces up and down to go out.

She whines for lots of reasons.
But a bounce means I really really need to go out now.

We are all slaves to our pets if we love 'em.

Your cat sounds like wonderful company.

10. me, too--I was a verywell-trained staff person.

My cat-master trained me to lie on the floor with her, and put my hand where she could use it for a pillow! Then I had to hold my hand VER-R-RY still so as not to wake her up!

PIA just keeps nudging me with her cold wet nose. She'll usually gives up and lays on my foot so I can't escape without her knowledge.

14. That kitty has a gentle touch-

Our border collie heeler, Sally, has a very strong nose noodle-nudge which she utilizes to lift a human hand into patting position. If the urge overtakes her it's several quick nudges in succession. Right now she is barking at me to toss a toy, but she's a bit senile-demented, so sometimes she forgets to bring a toy.

I get the impression that you got more bounce to the ounce with Sally than most dog owners. I hope springtime comes early this year for you.

another will gently hook my hand with her claws when she wants petted. she's even hooked my glasses if she wants our faces to be close.
