Just got done cleaning and scraping dog diarrhea off one of my rugs.

Of course it was less than an inch away from the hardwood floor. It's one of those indoor/outdoor rugs from Ballard Designs which are very durable with kids and pets and usually easy to clean.

Unfortunately it has some tiny indentations that made it extremely hard (that's the scraping part) to get completely out.

Sorry to bring up diarrhea, but had to share. My back is killing me. I wonder if it's because the little pig ate a dark chocolate hershey kiss that fell on the floor of the inside of the pantry when I opened the door to make the kids lunch. He heard it drop and before I could even react he was in the pantry and inhaled it.

I'm sure there will be more to come. Sigh.

Works great! Might damage the rug. 'Test in an inconspicuous spot.'

I have a crazy dog that spent over 6 year in a shelter, so she does not like going out in the rain or snow or cold, I found it easier to toilet train her to a washable rug in the basement. She pees like a racehorse, so I do have to wash the floor with bleach some times (don't breath in - chemical weapons!) But it is a lot easier to manage and I have nice rugs and wood floors upstairs.

I found the day before. He also chewed off the arms. My daughter handles it very well considering he has destroyed 5 Barbies and chewed the hands and feet off her American Girl doll (she wonders why it's called that when it says made in China) which we sent back to be repaired with a fee only to have him do it again.

If her room isn't picked up, I keep the door shut.

hmmmm....not toxic, but that sure could do some damage, I suspect!

My dogs will sometimes chew something up, but it's rare. They have different issues. It's always somethin'.

so much dog and cat stuff over the past 10 yrs.... we have steamed cleaned many times (used to rent a rug doctor fairly often)

I feel your pain, if we ever get our own house I refuse to have an inch of carpeting and only cheap ass rugs that can be thrown in the wash.

sorry for your dog's sickness... our dogs have gotten into a bag of peppermint patties (large dog) and picking up the poo was fun - all the sparkly wrappers.

I'm living in an apartment covered in that god-awful mottled brown apartment-grade carpeting and I've resolved to never have a single carpeted room in any home I own.

We've got a kitty with renal problems -- so there is pee and vomit. We've had a lot of animals over the years and the no wall-to-wall carpeting thing has helped me keep sane. We also have a yard with all sorts of dirt and tree droppings, etc., so luckily I can keep the floors relatively clean.
