Started watching The Walking Dead. On episode 4 now.

So far pretty much everything about pretty much every character annoys the shit out of me. And the show spends way too much time on crap that bores me into catatonia.

How long until this passes?

It's not as though I'm zombie-averse, either. I love Romero's stuff, for example, and I've had stories published in the zombie genre, but when does this show get interesting?

So far everybody is more or less interchangeable except maybe Henry the serial killer.

I'm suspicious of shows that are great "if you stick with them for 20 or 30 episodes," or some similar variation thereof.

It never gets interesting. It's a terrible soap opera with one zombie kill every six episodes. That said, the third season has been much better than the previous two. I think they must have more money now, so there's more zombie action

Not really strictly a horror series.

You may not really like it. You will really hate the first half of the second season. They go entire shows without anyone being killed.

After four episodes I simply can't give a hoot about The Noble Sheriff, not The Wise Old Eccentric, not Stock Bigotted Redneck 1 or Stock Bigotted Redneck 2, not the Prophetic Dreamer*, nor any of the other standards, including the two Estranged/Reconciled/Torn-asunder Sisters.

*not quite sure if the shovel guy is actually The Prophetic Dreamer, but that's how episode 3 ended.
