We watched Margin Call a few nights ago. Holy shit....

Did that make us angry. Watched it after listening to an NPR story on how much money is being spent on (pissed away on, I mean) the election.

And compared that with the state of the personal economy of so many in this country.

Just another nail in the "We are totally messed up" coffin.

It's a great movie, by the way.....if you can deal with the frustration and anger it causes.

back now and then and consider the big picture - whether it all makes sense - they would be surprised (or, maybe they wouldn't be...which is really a depressing thought).

like I say the whole thing makes me want to vomit, all this money in politics.

But still, if someone is doing the right thing, they can be elected even if they have less money.

Right now it's a fact that money is considered speech. And money is talking the loudest right now.

merits and policies are a quaint old fashioned form of measuring things that the elite 1% have discarded. Money is the deciding factor for our present situation in history. Those with the money are the only ones left in the race.

A lot has to change before merit returns as a deciding factor in elections. And it has to change on a fundamental level or we'll always have money making the rules.

I think it will HAVE to change - the system as it is will just collapse in on itself

5. Realistic is the key, because the whole election process needs changing.

It is utterly broken and a total waste of money. And that kind of huge change probably won't occur without a severe need/catastrophe. All I know is that what we are doing is just insane.
