(21,020 posts)Hitting the big six-oh wasn't that big a deal for me.
I had a much harder time turning 21, then again at 30.
I guess it takes getting older to realize that having an age crisis is pretty much a waste of time.

Do you have any aches and pains?
Sometimes I think I would gladly trade my relatively still young-looking outer facade for someone else's aches and pains free body...

(30,994 posts)I have a bad shoulder and the usual aches and pains but I ride a bicycle everywhere, and that has helped immensely from what I've gleaned from my older friends.

(3,522 posts)I stopped giving a shit about how old I am around my
50th birthday.
It was around that time that I had a birthday cake with
50 candles in it and when they were lit, it looked like
a fracken forest fire; it set off the kitchen smoke alarm.
So now I don't keep track of that stuff.
I remember when I was around 8 years old, that my
birthday seemed to come around every 3 years or so.
Now my birthday comes around every 4 months and
I just don't care.
It's now like I'm in denial about it or anything like that.
It doesn't bother me at all that I'm an old fart who
does nothing but complain about how things are now and
how much better they used to be way back when.
Things are so crazy that if Barry Goldwater,
(Barry FUCKING Goldwater!!) were around today,
the tea party would be calling him a Liberal!

(21,977 posts)Oh wait, this isn't a job interview?
I actually had an ancient old senior partner at Bass Berry & Sims in Nashville (he had to be at least 125) ask me that when I got out of law school. "How old ARE you, anyway?" And that was my answer. Old enough to konw yhou can't ask me that. He about sh*t his pants ... I didn't get the job, but I knew once he asked me the question, I wasn't going to get it anyway, so I decidedto f*ck with him a little bit. He said, "Oh, no, I just want to know if you have the legs to keep up with the young folks." I said, "That's WHY you can't ask me that question."
And we ended the interview. I never heard from them again.
And for the record, I ain't sayin'!
