"Strong wind. Destroy our home. Many dead tonight, it could be you..."
Just watched a cool 25th anniversary documentary about this album.. what an epic journey, and a timeless classic, beginning to end.

2. Yup.. I've gone some pretty long periods without listening to it, then every now and then I'll
dig it out and pop it into the stereo... sounds every bit as sparkling, powerful and beautiful as it did the first day I bought it in '86 (or was it '87?) The vocal parts in this song, and in "Under African Skies" never fail to give me goosebumps no matter how many times I listen to them.
Edit for wrong song title.. |

6. Ha! That one immediately came to mind.
Somewhere I've got an (admittedly rough) recording of the Dead working on that tune with Dylan in their old rehearsal space, back in 87 or so.

7. heh.. I would love to hear that..
The Dead were actually pretty damned good at covers... Now that I`m thinking cover songs, I need to dig out my bootleg Tool disc and listen to their cover of Wings` "Silly Love Songs" again..
