1. One time I caught our girl peeing down the tub drain, she was wicked smart, that cat.

Not really sure what she was thinking, but I did appreciate that it wasn't on the carpet. Cats do vomit often it seems and it isn't anything serious.

And, yes, it is better to clean up the tub than carpet!

3. How do they figure this stuff out? Not really asking, I know, just surprised they remain so humble.

Our girl was the smartest cat I ever met. She came to us after running away from home. She was brilliant and used to bring us all kinds of "food", even though her former "family" had had her declawed. I think that is why she ran away. We had a fenced yard and squirreltown was our middle name. She played with them, it was birds that she brought in to share.

Tommy was half-Siamese, a beautiful cat with tabby-like markings where a normal Siamese would have dark brown ones. I got him from an animal shelter. When he was a year old, I parked him with my father when I was between apartments. Dad liked him so much he refused to let me have Tommy back.

My brother was living with my father after Mom died, just two bachelors being slobs. Among other things, they saw no need to close the bathroom door, because there were no women around.

Tommy intently watched them doing their business. It seems he caught on quickly.

One day they saw him sitting on the throne, doing his thing. He even turned and tried to move the flush handle with his paw.

They laughed themselves sick, and took pictures the next time they saw Tommy going potty.

My dad took control of my dog when I moved from the state, he wouldn't give him back either and they loved each other, you could see it. Tai Pan, a chow, had hip dysplasia in his later years, but he still loved to go for a walk with my dad and his more agile shepherd mix. Tai would walk the way down and my father would carry him the way back. I visited Tai when I visited my folks, really, it was the best place for him, I moved so often for my work.

Tommy sounds not only smart but beautiful too, with markings like that.

Max wolfed his food down and then ralphed it up. I had to stop from puking on my bed, so he left his deposit on the floor at the edge of the bed--on the side I get up from in the morning. Thank God I was already up; otherwise, I'd have stepped right in it.

This is why I was comparatively pleased about the bathtub.

She reloaded, but has kept it down so far. Yay!

6. I don't know which is worse - stepping in cat puke with bare feet or stepping in cat puke

with shoes or slippers on and not knowing it, thereby tracking it all over the house. Either one is better than stepping in poop - barefoot or shod.

Has no tail and a bit of a digestion problem associated with it. I've been giving her cat treats for hairball control and we have much less ralphing around here. I HATE stepping in cat yack.

The big dog in this tale of woe drank two big bowls of water before blowing it back all over the bed. Cringe.
